Soft Landings

Driven by our in-house integrated technical design team, 21 has a comprehensive holistic approach to design. Our primary focus is to protect the original design intent whist proactively developing design solutions to overcome construction challenges and achieve the highest levels of quality space. Our approach to each project is both bespoke and collaborative, following Soft Landings principles from appointment and initial briefing through to post occupancy evaluation. The Soft Landings principles incorporate rigid project reporting processes to establish clear lines of communication to inspire confidence and trust from our clients and their professional teams.

Following appointment of a Cat B fitout for their new office, we worked with our client pladis to complete a series of meetings and a questionnaire to outline the key deliverables. The Soft Landings team meet on a fortnightly basis to ensure that these remain a core focus throughout the project delivery and set the client up to better monitor and gather data of the space once their employees have moved back in. Alongside this we also completed extensive research into the existing premises and carried out occupancy surveys to identify any existing pinch points and current niggles allowing us to recognise key disturbances such as a noisy AC unit or complicated AV system.

This information has allowed us to create goals and set a strategy to make sure that the end users are engaged in the construction process. In anticipation of their new office move they have been sharing the videos of the progress via a landing page with their business ensuring their staff are fully involved with the development of their new headquarters. The engagement will see members of the team visiting site to try the space out for the key collaborative space that it is intended to be.
